Join Fair Agenda’s Feminist Book Club!

Want to help deliver a future where everyone has safety, security and agency no matter their gender?

The surge in global attacks on women’s rights are a reminder that there’s never been a more important time to strengthen our collective muscles in the fight for feminist futures; to deepen connections between those in the fight with us; and to come together to foster reflection, hope and action.

That’s why Fair Agenda is launching Feminist Book Clubs - a new initiative being rolled out by Fair Agenda members around the country.

We’re recruiting members around the country to host book clubs in their community – bring together the people in their life that care about gender equity to share reflections and build community.

How it works

Just like a traditional book club, we all read the same text - chosen from a list of timely feminist content provided by the Fair Agenda team every six weeks.

Unlike a traditional book club, you won’t be asked to read a whole book - but instead an excerpt / article or podcast will always take less than 3 hours to read (or listen to).

During book club you’ll reflect on the content, share your thoughts on what you can take away from it; and hear about an opportunity to take tangible action in the fight for a gender equitable future.

What will we be reading?

Every six weeks, the Fair Agenda team will recommend some options for book club.

Every month, Fair Agenda will compile three texts - these could be book chapters, sections of a PDF, or even a podcast - for hosts to choose from and assign to book clubs.

The recommended texts will provide feminist perspectives relevant to this moment in time and to current struggles (with a brief on why this book in this moment provided in each cycle).

Each book club you’ll discuss the text, and what you’re taking away from it - to inform your thinking and activism moving forward.
